Eventually you get used to riding up and down hills in SF. When you get to the top of one, it's nice to look down and see how high you've climbed.
And once you've caught your breath, you keep on climbing!
They say the higher the climb, the better the view!

That is the beginning of one of my favorite rides! I head from there up by the legion of honor, through sea cliff, up through the presidio and then plop out on the marina green. Great tour of SF if you have friends visiting from out of town who like bikes. And hills on bikes.
