Taking another year by STORM

It's my birthday, so I got myself a new bike.

I got the perfect name for my new bike

I bet you can guess what I've decided to name it.

(Go ahead - guess!)

Why the Jamis Commuter 4? I test rode a bunch of other bikes (Linus, Globe, Trek, Masi, PUBLIC, etc.) and this one just felt right. It also has most features built in, with the exception of a kickstand which I'll add later.

Also, all I ever heard about this bike were strong praises, and my pal Remy who owns Mojo Bicycle Cafe also owns a Jamis Commuter - the men's version of my whitey. He couldn't stop beaming about how much he loves that bike. He also speaks French. I was sold.

May the Force be with me and my new ride.

  3. Wow, nice ride! Very stylish, and the fenders/chainguard/internal hub should help keep you stylish on it (as in, no rolled up pants or grease stains)! No idea how it is to ride, but it looks faster than my Opus Lugano (which can be spotted on Valencia regularly!)...

How do you find the flat fenders? I really like their look, but I had some on the ninja bike, and found that they were rattly over bad pavement. Maybe I'm just not that good at installing fenders. :-)

    Have fun (and happy birthday)!

  4. Happy Birthday!
    Did you name her Pearl?

  5. Flat fenders are indeed rattly. That would be my only complaint. May have to replace!

And no... not Pearl. Amy is correct. This ride is my Storm Trooper.

  6. "This ride is my Storm Trooper."

Got it in one, but late to the party.

Happy birthday and shit, enjoy riding the wheels of it, as they say.

  7. Hmmm. . . .do the Stormtroopers come with the bike? Basically, I'm a nonviolent person but I just realized that I could have used a couple of those guys.

  10. Hmmm. Do you use that bike for tootling around Tatooine? Unfortunate about the rattly fenders -- I was thinking about replacing my old SKS fenders, but maybe not.
