Je me souviens...
Québec... now that I'm back in the SF fog, layered in wool accessories, I'm dreaming of my summer vacation.
They used to say in Québec that if summer fell on a Saturday, they'd have a picnic. But now, most Québecois have told me that Climate Change has taken its toll on the Great White North. Summers are hotter and winters are milder.
Because the summer heat in Montréal was unbearable, my pal Marie-Lyse rented a place in the Laurentides, so I got to experience what truly felt like summer to me.
I read that some of the old Canadian railways have been transformed into bike paths, and I wondered if I had landed on one of them.
It certainly looked that way.
After a long and leisurely afternoon of two-wheeled exploration, a dip in the cool, solitary lake refreshed my body and soul.
Just me and the grenouilles.
Merci pour les souvenirs...
