One of the most celebrated cyclists of San Francisco - PD Bird, and her buddy Popi (aka Johnny).
Rookie was infatuated with lovely PD and posed for pic with his new feathered friend.
This lovely bird|man pairing live in my neighborhood, and I often run into the two of them enjoying the two-wheeled life. A unique human|animal bond that I totally dig (so do Rookie & Cloud for that matter.)
You can find out more about PD on her blog.
And my cuties have a New Year's wish for you.
I recently ran into my neighbor, Meg Lynch, the founder and former owner of my neighborhood haunt Velo Rouge Café. A few years ago, she sold her business to pursue some personal projects.
Namely her husband Adam and daughter Ella.
And how about this tri-tandem with a big girl seat for Ella when she gets a little bigger!? For now, that head rest for naptime along the ride is ingenious.
Hip hip hooray to another two-wheeled young lady growing up riding the streets of San Francisco with confidence!
Ride on!
Nathan and Kristen are so fabulous on this folding tandem that I'm gonna give them a whole tour around the runway.

And that ends our trip down the catwalk with Pedal Savvy this year. Congrats to Gwen and her team for putting together such a creative and energetic show! Hope these photos and links gave you inspiration to spice up your wardrobe on and off the saddle (preferably on)!
Happy Holidays to everyone and catch you before the new year!

Looking for stories about and advice for real women on real bikes? Girls on Bikes is an extremely well-researched book for the modern day bike woman, with insightful and inspiring anecdotes about the women on bikes who paved the way for us to ride into the future with confidence.
Written by Grant Petersen of Rivendell fame, this book will get a newbie onto a saddle in no time. Petersen demystifies biking while offering smart and very practical advice that makes biking easy and fun for Everyman (or Everywoman).
My bike/filmmaker friend Laura Lukitsch sent me this photo this weekend.
Saw this woman biker (well her shoes, not her too much) on Bart the other day. Thought you might want to post it on the blog.
Send us your bike street fashion pics or share them with us on our flickr photo pool.
In North America over the coming months, Brooks England will be hosting the Dashing Bicycle Show, a travelling display of fine bicycles and accessories for fans of style in the saddle.
The Opening Exhibition will take place on the 8th of December at 6pm in San Francisco at Huckleberry Bicycles, where Hendrick’s Gin will be on hand to lubricate the cogs of human interaction. And Grant Petersen of Rivendell will be guest speaking.
